Fuyang Institute of Technology

Fuyang Institute of Technology is a public regular institution of full-time higher education authorized by the People’s Government of Fuyang City. The institution was founded in 1956, became one of the first batch of education colleges authorized by the Ministry of Education in 1984, started to provided higher vocational education in 1998, and was reorganized and renamed as Fuyang Institute of Technology in 2001. Linking with the industries with local characteristics, the institution has determined the school-running philosophy, which is to “regard engineering as the mainstay, and achieve the coordinated development of multiple disciplines and specialties on the basis of agronomy”. At present, the school is a national backbone higher vocational college, pilot unit of modern apprenticeship system and “1+X” certificate system, one of the first batch of demonstration schools in Anhui Province, benchmark school of higher vocational education development, typical demonstration school of school-enterprise cooperation, construction unit of high-level higher vocational school in Anhui Province, pilot college of comprehensive reform of “all-round education”, and the only one in Anhui Province to provide directed education to train non-commissioned officers for the Rocket Force and Strategic Support Force.

The school is located on the banks of the beautiful Qiyu River, near Fuyang High-speed Railway Station and Fuyang Airport with beautiful environment and convenient transportation. It covers an area of 1,115 mu, with a school building area of 380,000 square meters. It has 8 teaching units, including School of Urban and Rural Construction (School of Rural Revitalization), School of Information and Intelligent Manufacturing (School of NCOs), School of Economics and Management, School of Nursing, School of Medical Sciences, School of Pre-school Education, School of Public Basic Education, and School of Marxism. It has a total of 466 faculty members, of which 425 are full-time teachers with 26 professors, 98 associate professors and 193 double-professionally-titled teachers. There are more than 18,000 students registered.

The institution has set up 41 majors, covering 12 major categories, including the agriculture, fishery & animal husbandry sector, the food, medicine and grain sector, equipment manufacturing, electronic information, transportation, materials and energy, civil engineering and construction, finance and trade, tourism, medicine and health, education and sports, the light industry and textile industry. The school has 17 major groups, 8 national key and core majors, 12 provincial demonstration majors, specialty majors and comprehensive reform pilot majors, and 1 national modern apprenticeship pilot major.
