Liu Yujie stresses the commitment to building a longer and better new-energy automotive industry chain in Fuyang by creating a favorable business environment

On the afternoon of March 21st, Fuyang Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government held a symposium with private entrepreneurs from the new energy automotive industry chain. At the symposium, Liu Yujie, Secretary of Fuyang Municipal Committee of the CPC, called for thoroughly studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important remarks on the development of the private sector. He added, to meet requirements of the Provincial Committee and the Provincial Government, Fuyang will exert efforts to create a favorable business environment to solve what troubles and will trouble local enterprises, so as to build a longer and better new-energy automotive industry chain. The meeting was presided over by Hu Mingwen, Deputy Secretary of Fuyang Municipal Committee of the CPC and Mayor. Attendees include municipal leaders, Hu Mingying, Li Zhiwei, Li Jun, Wang Bo, Lv Guoping, Zhang Junjie, Shao Bing, Yu Jianbin, Chen Dong, Wu Kaiyi, and Wang Jiaren, along with Sun Cunkun, Secretary-General of the Municipal Government.

Invitees include a total of 43 upstream and downstream firms of the new energy automotive industry chain (manufacturing of complete vehicles and autoparts, aftermarket) in Fuyang, 30 financial institutions, fund companies, universities, vocational schools, and public service agencies. At the symposium, representatives from 22 companies such as JAC Group (Fuyang), Anhui Qili Special Vehicle, Fuyang BYD, Luxshare Precision, Ruimee Precision, Fuyang Haina Battery Technology, Jieshou Jintianhong New Materials, Dex Capital, Haiyuan Capital, and State Grid Fuyang Electric Power Supply Company made verbal statements, while representatives from other companies submitted written statements. Based on their practices, participants provided suggestions and opinions with regard to the coordination of the supply chain in the new energy sector, support for research and development innovation, expansion of financing channels, and establishment of human resources service platforms. They unanimously expressed that Fuyang’s business environment and industrial ecosystem are being improved. Noteworthy, the assistance from the Municipal Committee and Municipal Government in solving practical problems for enterprises not only made the enterprises feel cared for and supported but also boosted their confidence and enthusiasm in investing and developing in Fuyang. Liu Yujie listened attentively and conversed with the representatives of the enterprises from time to time, directing relevant departments and local authorities to comprehensively review and handle matters in a closed-loop manner.

Liu Yujie pointed out that in recent years, the Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government have consistently prioritized the development of the new energy automotive industry. We have vigorously promoted the coordinated development of the entire chain of manufacturing of automobiles and autoparts, aftermarket, thus achieving continuous expansion of the industry scale, ever-increasing influence, and effective expansion of application. By 2023, the city had over 260 enterprises clustered in the new energy automotive industry chain with a year-on-year increase of 17.4% in business revenue and 13.1% in automobile and autoparts exports. The existing vehicle parc exceeds 1.2384 million, among which there are over 68,800 new energy vehicles, ranking the second in both categories in Anhui province. Going forward, we must maintain unwavering confidence and seize the opportunities for the development of the new energy vehicle industry. To be more specific, we will vigorously develop complete vehicles and special-purpose vehicles such as medium and heavy-duty trucks manufactured by JAC Group, high-end ceremonial vehicles manufactured by Qili, Huaxing vehicles, and Zhonghang Kaile special vehicles. We will accelerate the development of autoparts industry clusters, focusing on such industries as sodium-ion and lithium-ion battery manufacturing and comprehensive recycling. To actively join the “Coordinated System of Complete Vehicles and Autoparts” in Anhui’s automotive industry, we will spare no effort to build important new energy vehicle component production bases to serve key automotive enterprises nationwide, thus making significant contributions to Fuyang’s role in accelerating the development of an automotive industry cluster worth 2 trillion RMB in Anhui.

Liu Yujie stressed highlighting innovation empowerment. Relying on high-level platforms such as Anhui (Fuyang) Advanced Research Institute, we should deepen cooperation with research teams from universities and institutes, jointly tackle key core technology challenges, and promote the transformation and application of more scientific and technological achievements in Fuyang. We support strengthening the construction of automotive specialties in local universities, promote the distinctive vocational education model (the principal centers around the factory manager, specialties around the industry, and teaching around production so that schools are like factories, classrooms like workshops, teachers like instructors, students like apprentices) , and actively attract automotive professionals including outstanding engineers to nurture a high-quality automotive talent pool with strong innovative capabilities to meet development needs. We will provide sufficient resources, hold “Saturday Consultation” (government-enterprise work meeting) periodically to ensure the implementation of key projects, and efficiently address issues related to personnel, land, funds, utilities, and environmental, energy and safety assessments. Besides, we will actively build platforms for communication and cooperation among enterprises along the automotive industry chain, leveraging comprehensive advantages such as talent resources, geographical advantage and convenient transportation, and broad markets to promote the coordinated development of the industry chain and supply chain. We need to optimize the development environment, vigorously create a favorable business environment in Fuyang, strengthen incentive policies in industries, finance, innovation and entrepreneurship. We must implement mechanisms to every detail such as government-enterprise work meetings, “four talks” (talk with the masses, enterprises, the grassroots and the media), and “Help and Assist Service”, striving to build a close and clean government-business relationship. We will vigorously promote the excellent work style of “immediate action and practical implementation”, practice the “front line+closed-loop” working method, polish the brand of “Step Ahead in Service” , and fully implement pro-business policies with an aim to provide a reassuring environment for enterprises to invest, create and develop.

Liu Yujie stated that since the new energy automotive industry is at a crucial strategic juncture, entrepreneurs are expected to unleash their potential, venture to act, and seize opportunities in tandem with Fuyang, to expand their enterprises, improve product quality, and enhance brand influence. By doing so, they can contribute more to the construction of a new energy vehicle industry cluster with significant influence in Anhui and of “Three Highlands and One Area” and build Fuyang into one of “Ten Regional Major Cities”.
